Above the roof: 5 exciting ways to jump into the abyss (part 2)
BASE JUMPING
Well, a very extreme way to have fun. For beginners, eager to tickle their nerves, the path is ordered here. BASE jumping is a parachute jump from fixed objects (rocks, houses, bridges). Only the most experienced and reckless parachutists can master it.
The danger is that the usual jump is made from a solid height, and the opening of the dome occurs somewhere 600 meters from the ground, after 3-4 seconds. Another 5-7 minutes is left for soaring under the dome and admiring the beauties of nature. And in base jumping the whole flight lasts only 5-6 seconds! In addition, the design does not provide a safety system and a reserve parachute – there simply will not be enough time to open it.
Successful landing requires a truly steel shutter speed! By the way, when it comes to landing, it happens not in an open field, but in very limited areas, which increases the risk of serious injury. By the way, Karl Benish – the first “natural scientist” of such jumps, died after 5 years of his base jumping debut while mastering his next object – an unnamed rock in Norway.
ROUPJAMPING
The easiest, cheapest and most understandable way. No constructions behind, no need to learn to maneuver, land and so on. Nothing at all. Only you and the rope.
The essence of the method is simple – you come to the collection point of rope jumpers, pay money, and they take out a cord that is tied with one end to you and the other to the bridge (a bolt in the rock, a tower, etc.). Then you jump down. Of course, not everything is so rough – a dynamic rope is used, which will save the body from overloads at the climax of the flight, plus you will be wearing a harness system (like on climbers). This construction is fastened with durable carabiners.
The equipment is very, very reliable – if you wish, you can drop a Zhiguli from a cliff and nothing will happen to them. However, there are still restrictions on weight – the guys who walked more than 140 kilograms will have to sit at the weekend at home. As well as those who do not reach 40. Rowjumping compares favorably with the above entertainment in that it is cheap, does not require certain weather conditions, as well as the ability to control the aircraft and land properly.
From the foregoing, it becomes clear that the most important thing for the safety of all these entertainments is equipment, so the lines of the parachute and paraglider, ropes and cables needed in these sports must meet all the requirements. Your life depends on the quality of your equipment. Remember this and do not try to save on your health!
